Emergency First Aid

This is a Health & Safety Approved Centre workshop where the assessment is in the form of continuous assessment and oral questioning.

Learning Outcomes:

- Have reviewed current work practises
- Understand the 4 quadrants theory and how to use it
- Understand the difference between high leverage work and low leverage work and the implications on planning
- Be able to and also understand the need to say ‘no’ to others
- Consider the best approaches to protect their own time
Award in Peer Mentoring Course starting in January
Award in Peer Mentoring OCNWMR Level 2 {QCF}
This programme is designed to provide learners with skills to enable them to work with, and support, others. It enables learners to gain knowledge, skills and understanding around the role of a peer mentor.
DATES: All Tuesdays. January 14, 21, 28, February 4, 11, 25, March 4, 11,
Course delivery: One half day {3 hours} per week for 8 weeks.
Course Content:
- Understanding the role of a peer mentor
- Understanding the aims of a peer mentoring programme
- Developing skills for peer mentoring
- Exploring the codes of conduct of a peer mentor
- Organisational and legal requirements to be followed by peer mentors.
Entry requirements: This course is suitable for people over 19 years old, who are volunteering or work {or who would like to work} in a peer mentor role. Learners will be required to complete some of the accreditation requirements in their own time as well as during the taught sessions. Applicants should be functional in English. It is a requirement by the accreditation body that this course is delivered and assessed in English.
Skillbase {SDVS} is able to offer free accredited training. We can deliver these as bespoke programmes across the county. There are no delivery costs for individuals or organisations. There will be a £10 nominal accreditation fee for people in employment. This fee will be met by Skillbase Training for those who are unemployed. However, fees may be waived for organisations and/or individuals depending on circumstances. Please apply.
